Tasting notes

The 2023 Rauzan-Ségla shows considerable promise, unwinding in the glass with aromas of cherries, dark berries and plums mingled with hints of pencil shavings and violets. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's deep and fleshy, with terrific purity of fruit, supple tannins and a long, resonant finish. This classic in the making is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13.5% Merlot and 1.5% Petit Verdot. (WK)

Producer

Chateau Rauzan-Segla

Chateau Rauzan-Segla is a winery in the Margaux appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. Chateau Rauzan-Segla is also the name of the red wine produced by this property. The wine produced here was classified as one of fifteen Deuxièmes Crus (Second Growths) in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. The alternate name "Rausan-Segla" was also frequently used until 1994 when the original "Rauzan-Segla" again became the official name.
