Terms Of Use

PAYMENT: We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. Wine is sold F.O.B., from our warehouse, San Francisco, California. Shipping will be provided on behalf of the customer at the price of packing, freight, and insurance.

FORCE MAJEUR: We shall not be liable for any failure to meet our obligations by circumstances beyond our control.

Caveat Emptor: We inspect all wines that we receive and act in good faith in the handling of the wines. However, we are not unable to accept responsibility for the state or condition of these wines, nor are we able to guarantee that the wine in the bottle corresponds to the quality or attributes which might be expected from its description. Older bottles from the same case may have significant bottle variation. We provide general information concerning the physical appearance of any bottle that is not normal for its age.

Fine Wines International cannot be held responsible for what may happen to purchases while in transit. Customers are entitled to a refund only for the breakage of wine while in transit. Fine Wines International and our carriers will not issue refunds for any other types of damages, such as, the defacement of labels, corks, and capsules, spoilage, and all other forms of damage. Neither Fine Wines International nor its carriers are liable for the deterioration of wine due to exposure to extreme temperatures or humidity while in transit. If you receive bottles that have been broken during shipping, you must contact us within 24 hours of receiving the parcel.

A great deal of time and effort has been taken to make this site as complete and accurate as possible. We are not responsible for any errors or omissions.

Under California law, it is illegal to return alcohol products, once sold, except for defective product, which may be returned for store credit or same product within 15 days. We reserve the right to assess an order cancellation fee of 10% on all cancelled orders. All terms offered without engagement and subject to prior sale.

All wines are sold in the County of San Francisco and title passes to the buyer in California. The buyer is solely responsible for shipment of wines. We are not liable for any government or state confiscations. As we are not responsible for any damage during shipping, buyers should be cogniscent of their weather before requesting shipment of their wine. We reserve the right to hold orders and ship at a later date as necessary. By placing an order, you authorize us to act on your behalf to deliver your order to you. Wines may be sold only to persons who are at least 21 years old. In placing your order, you represent to us that you are at least 21 years old.

Due to the fact that the character of wine changes with age and responds directly to how it is cared for in terms of storage, we are unable to completely guarantee the "drinkability" of every bottle we sell. We can however guarantee that our wine has been cared for responsibly and stored properly since our acquisition.

Special Notice

Though every effort is made to describe or measure the levels of older vintages, corks over 20 years old begin to lose their elasticity and levels can change between inventorying and sale. Old corks have also been known to fail during or after shipment.

While we do not require, we strongly suggest that all purchases of high end wine be shipped via Priority Overnight as a precautionary measure to help protect the wine against extended time outside optimal storage conditions. Shipping other than Priority Overnight service will invalidate any recourse against our firm for loss or damage to the wine.

We therefore repeat that there is always a risk of cork failure with old wines and due allowance must be made for this.
