Guy Charlemagne’s son, Philippe makes some of the purest Champagnes produced… "A grower to watch with the utmost respect in the future.” Richard Juhlin, Author of “A Scent of Champagne.”
We are delighted to announce that a new shipment of Champagne Guy Charlemagne has arrived!
Purchased directly from Philippe Charlemagne, and with no middle men markups, we are thrilled to offer Champagne of exceptional quality, at an extremely fair price.
Thankfully, there are no tariffs on Champagne for the moment.
Don't miss the Grand Cru Blanc Grand Cru Brut Reserve, at $45 this is a Champagne to buy by the case, or the pallet!
We also highly recommend the 2013 Les Coulmets Grand Cru Blanc de, a serious vintage Champagne for $65. Rated 94 points by Wine Enthusiast, don't miss this one.
Whichever Blanc de Blancs I am tasting from Guy Charlemagne, I am always impressed by the purity, subtlety and race that these Champagnes capture. Sure, the nature of a given vintage magnifies certain facets of the wine’s characteristics, but these traits seem to run true whatever the vintage.
Philippe Charlemagne represents the fifth generation of his family to make wine in Mesnil-sur-Oger, from 15 hectares of vines, principally in the villages of Oger and Mesnil-sur-Oger itself. This is from the Côte des Blancs, so very much Blanc de Blancs territory – 87% of Philippe’s vines are Chardonnay and the balance are Pinot Noir.
Their Champagne House is directly opposite the famous “Salon” Champagne House, widely recognized as one of the very best Champagnes in the world!
We are delighted a new shipment has arrived after the terrific response to the first batch that sold out quickly last fall.
Did we mention that in addition to regular bottles, we can offer halves, magnums, double magnums and 6 liters..?!
Champagne time!
