2000 Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Romanee-Conti Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits, France 750ml

There is a slight touch of bricking but with a healthy ruby core. The mature and highly perfumed aromas flash evident sous-bois along with plenty of the hallmark spice, exotic tea and dried floral elements, especially rose petal. The highly refined mouth feel is seductively silky thanks to the excellent mid-palate density where the sappy dry extract coats the mouth on the superbly lengthy and impeccably well-balanced finish. This beautifully harmonious wine is near its peak even though for my preferences, I would be inclined to give it 2 to 5 more years. With that said however, in a pinch it could easily be enjoyed now. I would further observe that the '00 RC is so good that it could well be the wine of the 2000 vintage.
