Clear pale lemon colour. The nose is a little more forthcoming than the Chassagne, with agreeable delicacy. Lovely soft suave and supple, delicacy and elegance but with a sense of muscle beneath. The extra ripeness makes this one of the more accessible 2020s so should drink well quite early. Tasted: October 2021

Glowing pale primrose. The nose shows a little youthful tension, with the detail of the fruit still to follow. There are quite evident grapefruit and citrus notes, rather surprising, possibly picked a day too early. Middleweight –there is never a lot of flesh here -but clean, long and balanced. Tasted: October 2021

Planted in 1947 and in good health. Plump purple in colour, while the bouquet is hard to assess from a bottle opened the previous day and showing just a light touch of oxidation. To be ignored since in the mouth the wine is very pure and with extra depth, filling the palate, the oak is perfectly in harmony and very persistent. Tasted: April 2021

Pure mid purple with a heavenly fruit on the nose, and very little wood. Gains in suavity in the mouth, with both generosity and a fresh framework, light orange peel and some floral notes. Tasted: April 2021

Pale lemon yellow, the 2020 Louis Michel Forêts has a more opulent nose, more in the peaches and cream mode, but there is a reductive thread through the middle keeping some balance. White fruit and indeed flesh with some length and a pleasing crystalline finish. Tasted: July 2021
