Tasting notes

Here the cooler and more reticent nose is at once more elegant and a more layered while grudgingly displays its nose of the essence of red cherry, raspberry and soft spice wisps. I very much like the texture of the stony and well-detailed medium-bodied flavors that are like rolling a small pebble around the mouth on the clean, dry, balanced and youthfully austere finale. Understated and lovely.

We have an outstanding selection of Chateau de la Maltroye wines arriving direct from the domaine. Situated in Chassagne-Montrachet in the south of the Cote d'Or, Chateau de la Maltroye has been a family property since 1939. It is easily recognizable by its 18th century, glazed tile roof. The vineyard encompasses over 32 acres in Chassagne-Montrachet and 5 acres in Santenay. Jean-Pierre Cornut, the current wine-grower, has magnificently reinvigorated this domain which now produces some of the best Chassagne-Montrachet on the market.
