Tasting notes

A spicy and peppery nose exhibits notes of various dark berries and a hint of warm earth. The sleek and delicious bigger-bodied flavors are more powerful if not quite as refined on the lightly rustic and slightly firmer finale. This could be reasonably approached young but it should easily repay up to a decade of keeping.

We have an outstanding selection of Chateau de la Maltroye wines arriving direct from the domaine. Situated in Chassagne-Montrachet in the south of the Cote d'Or, Chateau de la Maltroye has been a family property since 1939. It is easily recognizable by its 18th century, glazed tile roof. The vineyard encompasses over 32 acres in Chassagne-Montrachet and 5 acres in Santenay.
