2019 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits, France 3.0L

The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is also very promising, mingling aromas of cherries, earthy wild berries, rose petals and spices in an incipiently complex mélange. Full-bodied, rich and layered, it's elegantly muscular and built for the long haul, its enveloping core of fruit largely concealing serious reserves of fine, powdery tannins. (WK)

2019 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Romanee-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits, France 750ml

The 2019 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru is superb, wafting from the glass with aromas of plums, cassis, exotic spices, dark chocolate and rose petals, framed by a deft application of new oak. Full-bodied, sumptuous and enveloping, it's deep and concentrated, with lively acids, broad structural shoulders and a long, perfumed finish. (WK)

2019 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Richebourg Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits, France 750ml

A brilliant wine in the making, the 2019 Richebourg Grand Cru offers up aromas of wild berries, orange rind, plums, warm spices, licorice and incense. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it's layered and textural, with a broad attack that segues into a deep, lively and multidimensional core, concluding with a bright, precise finish of notable duration. This will be well worth ardent pursuit. (WK)

2013 Perrier-Jouet Belle Epoque - Fleur de Champagne Brut Millesime, Champagne, France 750ml

Perrier-Jouët's newly released 2013 Brut Belle Epoque is a giving, demonstrative wine that bursts from the glass with scents of mirabelle plum, confit citrus, buttery pastry and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and charming, it's seamless and elegant, with a pinpoint mousse and a fleshy core of fruit that's amplified by enough dosage to be noticeable. A touch finer-boned than the similarly successful 2012, it constitutes another fine effort from this house. (WK)

2018 Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Chambertin Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits, France 750ml

The 2018 Chambertin Grand Cru wafts from the glass with a complex bouquet of red berries, plums, rose petals and orange rind, framed by bass notes of rich, loamy soil and carnal nuances of smoked meats. Full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, it's layered and concentrated, its expansive attack segueing into a richly structured but impressively vibrant mid-palate, concluding with a long, resonant finish. This is a brilliant wine that readers should plan on forgetting for at least a decade. (WK)

2019 Chateau Berliquet, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, France 750ml

The 2019 Berliquet is showing beautifully, wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, wild berries, sweet spices, violets and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and elegant, with terrific depth at the core, lively acids and ripe, powdery tannins, it concludes with a long, mineral finish. It's produced from a 9.5-hectare vineyard that encompasses three soil types: Saint-Émilion's limestone plateau (like its sibling, Château Canon); the slope, characterized by deep clay; and then sandy, colluvial soils at the foot of the slope.

2019 Domaine Marc Colin et Fils En Remilly, Saint-Aubin Premier Cru, France 750ml

The 2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly has also turned out nicely, displaying aromas of pear, fresh bread, confit lemon and nutmeg, framed by a promising—at this stage in its élevage—touch of reduction. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, it's ample and elegantly textural, but built around a lovely spine of acidity, concluding with a lively finish. (WK)

2019 Domaine Marc Colin et Fils Les Caillerets, Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru, France 750ml

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets is very promising, opening in the glass with notes of pear, fresh peach, white flowers, beeswax and pastry cream. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with terrific structuring dry extract, lively acids and a long, mineral finish, it's once again one of the highlights of the portfolio. (WK)
