2020 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits, France 750ml

The colour is defined by a black centre with a purple rim. Again this is super-rich on the nose, with very sweet blackcurrant fruit, rather hiding the detail and even the structure. Fresh enough finish but really hard to pick out as yet. The aroma from the empty glass is flamboyant liqueur raspberry and bilberry. Will this transmogrify into a legendary wine: maybe, but for the moment I am cautious about the atypical richness and fruit profile. Tasted: November 2021
