(from a .52 ha parcel). This is the first wine to display any appreciable wood influence and even here it’s quite subtle on the aromas of mineral reduction, cool citrus and white fleshed fruit. There is outstanding cut and intensity to the overtly stony middle weight flavors that terminate in a tightly wound and sneaky long finale. This is very good and worth checking out. “Some characters of 2017, but fresher,” says Jean-Baptiste. “A very fine and elegant vintage, large in the middle and very fine and mineral on the finish. It is a blend of many things we wait for with Chardonnay in Burgundy. It is a vintage that really expresses the terroir. We should not hurry the élevage, bottling in April or later.”
