There is a deft touch of wood presently setting off the earthy and quite somber aromas of wild dark berries, smoke and plenty of sauvage character. The textured, intense and overtly mineral-inflected medium weight flavors possess plenty of power and extract that buffers the firm tannic spine on the mouth coating and markedly austere finish. While this is by no means hard or aggressive, it is clearly built to age and moreover it will require it.
