Coho’s 2010 Merlot Michael Black Vineyard, from a vineyard in Coombsville, is another attractive, juicy offering. Plums, black cherries, licorice, tar, smoke and incense are all layered into a powerful frame. This is a Merlot built on Coombsville structure rather than overt fruitiness typical of the grape. Aromatic nuance and underlying minerality are the hallmarks in this distinctive, harmonious Merlot.
