The 2009 Maya (67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Cabernet Franc) has opened-up considerably and is much more showy than I would have expected. It exhibits notes of sweet creme de cassis, camphor, bouquet garni, spice box and a hint of road tar. Full-bodied with remarkable density as well as a multidimensional personality, and abundant, well-integrated tannins, this 2009 can be approached now, but it should be even better in 5-7 years. It should last for three decades or more.
